Overview
OSG were commissioned to take this latest phase of the Aylesham Village Expansion Proposal through a Reserved Matters planning application, designing a scheme of 39 residential units with careful consideration to the principles of the Design Code and Aylesham Masterplan.
Thoughtful Design
The layout of this development reflects the principles established at the Outline stage, preserving the rural approach desired by the Aylesham Masterplan. Our comprehensive design approach integrates landscape, transport, and ecology. The site layout plan is a result of careful consideration of the clients' brief, site constraints, and existing landscape structure and aligns with the main principles of the Design Code: active frontages, adaptability, and access for all.

materials and landscape
In line with the Aylesham Vernacular, we have chosen a simple palette of materials. Red stock brickwork and weatherboarding, along with plain clay roof tiles, reflect the local character and complement the surrounding area.
green living and biodiversity
The development's landscape master plan sets the foundation for a strong green infrastructure network, promoting a multi-functional greenspace for residents. Emphasising sustainability, we have incorporated Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) to manage water efficiently. Our proposals include enhanced frontages to provide an appealing rural design and additional open spaces to soften the development and enhance biodiversity.
contributing to local needs
This latest phase of the Aylesham Village Expansion Proposal addresses the local demand for high-quality housing. The mix of two, three, and four-bedroomed dwellings ensures that this development caters to diverse needs, while its sustainable location significantly contributes to the housing supply in the area.
